Hello! Welcome to Type Du Nord — an independent type foundry based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. TDN is run by Libbie Bischoff.

Libbie is a Minneapolis-based type designer, graphic designer, and educator. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from University of Wisconsin-Stout and completed the Letterform Archive’s postgraduate program, Type West, in 2020. After graduating, she has opened Type Du Nord. Her type design practice revolves around reviving old typography and making original fonts with playfulness and whimsy.

Alongside her type work, Libbie teaches beginner and intermediate type design classes through Type Electives. Her classes are centered around making type design accessible, financially and geographically, to a global pool of students. Throughout her career, Libbie has worked with brands such as Docusign, General Mills, and Compass. In her free time, she has lots of creative hobbies like knitting, sewing, and painting.
